A little treat for a sewing machine

A much loved one gave me a Wii Fit. That is good for me, but not as much for my craft-time. And posting-time. But today I will tell you a little tale about my sewing machine. Six years ago I made the prom dress for my sister (the lovely lady at the bottom) using my grandmothers sewing machine. I the decided it was time for a sewing machine of my own. Thanks to my mom's negotiating skills and a delivery error I found myself in the end with a really nice Husquarna Viking sewing machine. During the last six years I have made dinosaurs, dresses, skirts, shirts, you name it. When I made my cousins prom dress this spring (the lovely lady to the right) I felt that the circle was complete, and that it was time for a service treat for my sewing machine. Yesterday I found a place for it, and this night I found myself dreaming about all the things I can do when I get it back! :)

Soon on Designtorget!

For all of you who live in Stockholm near Kulturhuset or Västermalmsgallerian, you can find this excellent design of a friend of me that is sold at Designtorget. I am actually a bit upset that I didn't come up with this idea myself. :)

Great yarn for greater good

I ordered a package with goodies from the BreastCancer site, including 3x100 g white mohair. I was surprised by the pretty package, the crocheted flower was definitely more than I expected. The yarn was a nice thin spun mohair, perfect for lacy scarves! Since the price for the yarn also includes 1 % of the cost for a mammogram and doing good activates the reward centers in the brain (this can be read about in e.g. "Pshychology" by Myers), this yarn rewarded me twice!

Budget space scrapbooking

A skein label replacement with all the information found on the original tag made from nice paper, glitterpens and stickers makes yarn an extra-personal gift.

I don't scrapbook. That is not because I don't want to. It's merely that I know myself enough to realize that it may become an addiction that would fill up another closet. We don't have an extra closet, so I simply decided to settle down with a budget space solution; glitterpens and stickers. But for all of you scrapbookers out there, here are som tips for saving money and the environment: http://craftstylish.com/item/2051/take-responsibility-with-eco-friendly-paper-crafting-tips
